I have worked in the Construction Industry for 37years, from which 33years traded as an Architectural Technician 30years in a self employed capacity. During the years of working I have built up an excellent reputation for precise, reliable & trustworthy work. Having worked for 70+ Contracts & 40+ Private clients. Much of my work has been on a referral basis & I pride myself on the quality, speed & accuracy of my work, also excellent presentation skills. I can work well both in a team & on my own initiative. During my contracts I have developed excellent communication skills dealing with contractors, Councils & clients alike. Working on many diverse contracts has given me a passion for detail & thorough knowledge of my field.

Banking(1990) 6 months working for an Architect in Sheffield, working on the Midland Banks throughout England. I represented OSF Architects surveying Banks & updating their image to HSBC Bank, the projects involved visiting bank vaults & other high security locations. The draughting incorporated designing for the Disabled well before Doc M came into existence? So my understanding of DDA compliance has been from an early stage in my career.
Petrol Stations(1992) In a self employed capacity I had to design a Petrol Station incorporating GRP Petrol Tank technology & offset fills. Involved in this project was liaising with the local Doncaster Fire Safety Officer for advice & literature on the subject.
Industrial (2005/2006) Draughting of portal framed industrial projects, with various Architects/Engineers throughout the years. Incorporating Cladding design & traditional construction None structural Outer walls.
Reinforced Conc Foundations (2015) Draughting for a Leeds Based Structural Engineer. Creating sections through Portal Framed building picking up on the Foundations, adding Rebarring to Conc to Struct Engineer’s calcs.
Museums (2000) With Doncaster Council I surveyed & draughted DDA work involving Doc M of the Building regs, with a lottery grant application to adapt an 18th Century Museum & bring it to current regulations.
Council Offices (2004) Again with Doncaster Council, I was recalled on the request of the Council, to do another Lottery grant application. This time with an 18th Century building in the town used prestigiously as the The Mansion House. Used by local government & the Mayor. This also involved DDA work & Doc M.
Industrial Laundry (2015) Working with an Huddersfield Architect, Draughting for working drawing stage on a Revolutionary “Foreign Invested” Large Industrial Laundry factory in Durham.
Commercial Unit (2017) Working with a Leeds Architect, Draughting for working drawing stage on a Large Yorkshire based “Light fitters” Large Manufacturer of Low Emission Lighting.
Retail
Vodafone Shops (1996) 3 month contract working with a Sheffield based Contractor, fitting out 250 vodafone shops with their “Corporate Identity” throughout England. Draughting on average 4 shops a day between 2 Draughters to keep up with the time constraints.
Private Jeans Company Shop (1994) Traditional draughting & Illustrating for a Doncaster based Jeans company. Utilizing Space Planning design & aesthetics to please the local Planners.
Supermarket (2006) Draughting for an Architect on Sainsbury’s Supermarket, in a conservation area in Harrogate. Involving Portal framing & structural Steelwork design with Non-Structural Stonework in local Stone for the external Facade.
Supermarket (2015) Draughting for an Architect on Asda’s Supermarket, working in REVIT, building Family models to be used at a later date within designs.

Sports
Indoor throwing Events Teaching Facility (1997) 3 month contract with an Architect, draughting for an idea that never came to fruition. For a Sports College based in Sheffield. Involving Steelwork design & Portal framing to produce a “Throws Building”. An all weather floodlit building for teaching throwing events (shot, discus, javelin) as well as everyday Educational subjects. The idea was that the Athletes’ never encroached the outside of the building despite the javelins going outside the building.
Sports Pavilions (2014) Working for Design Studio North, a Bradford based Architects, draughting for a Sports Pavilion. Bringing the planning plans up to building Regs.
Swimming Pool (1992) Traditional draughting for a local Doncaster based Pool designer. Based upon reinforced concrete design draughted to Engineer’s Calcs.
Swimming Pool (1998) Chesterfield Borough Council, surveying & investigation into a Swimming pool’s subsidence. Resulting in the discovery that the 1970’s Contractor had built the Foundations the wrong way around supporting the Deep end of the Pool inadequately?

Primary School (2017) 6 months working for an Architect in the Isle of Man, working on the working drawings for an extension to a Primary school in the main town of Douglas on the island.
School buildings’ Conversion (2008) Bradford Council, Caretaker’s Bungalow & House conversions to Classroom accommodation. Involving traditional construction design & RSJ Supports.

“O2” Millenium Dome Nightclub (2006) I was involved in the Space Planning of the night club with an Interior Designers.
American Casinos (2006) With the same Interior Designer also got involved with the Space planning with Casinos across America, the ONLY time a UK based practice has designed American Casinos!.
South Yorkshire Police Buildings (2008-2011) Working as the sole Architectural Technician for the Constabulary. Liaising with Chief Superintendents, Chief Inspectors, Inspectors alike. The Special Branch & CID as well as the traditional Police Force. Also The Government UKHTC (Human Trafficking Dept) were relocated from London to Sheffield & I designed the Space Planning of an existing Building to accommodate the department. I was heavily involved through ALL the stages & even got involved in the move, which put the Department on skeleton staffing for 24 hrs ONLY in moving from London to Sheffield in a day. I had the opportunity to survey high profile security buildings & places, such as “Robin Hood Airport” Doncaster, to survey the SYP location there.
